Kira United score late penalty to keep play off hopes alive

Kira United FC and Simba FC played to a one all draw in a top of Ssezibwa Group clash on Thursday 23rd-May at Kira grounds.

George Masembe put Alex Gitta’s coached Simba FC in the lead as early as the 18th minute.

With the game destined to end 1-0 in favor of Simba FC, Kira United were awarded a penalty after a handball in the forbidden area in the 89th minute.

Abas Muluya stepped forward and converted from the spot in the 91st minute putting the game to level.

At the the final whistle, each side walked away with a point, Simba FC lead the table with 49 points same as second placed Kira United.

Arnold Ntambazi the head coach Kira United is still positive about his side taking part in the Buganda Regional League Promotional play off final with a game to go,

“It has been a good game I appreciate my players for not giving up despite conceding an early goal we still have hope of playing in the promotional play off final now our focus is on the next fixture.”

The Buganda Regional League will climax on Wednesday 29th-May.

Kira United will face off with Luweero United at Kasana grounds in Luweero while Simba FC will play Free Stars at Namulonge grounds
