Ronald Otti scored the all important goal as BUL FC beat SC Villa 1-0 in the round of 32 contest at the FUFA technical centre in Njeru.
Otti’s first half goal was enough to send the Stanbic Uganda Cup holders into the last 16.
Otti headed the home a perfect Ibrahim Mugulusi corner kick to fire the hosts into the lead.
Nine time winners SC Villa were unfortunate as they hit the woodwork three times.
Most notably Hassan Musana had his well taken free kick hit the bar in the 19th minute.
The Jinja based side prevailed to the last 16 of the 49th edition of the competition.
For starters, BUL eliminated SC Villa at the Quarterfinal stage on their way to their maiden trophy last season.
Meanwhile, Kisugu United beat Paidha Black Angels 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time.
Kisugu United and BUL FC join Vipers SC, Kiyinda Boys, Bunyaruguru United, Wakiso Giants, Mbarara City, Soltilo Bright Stars and Kitara into the last 16.
