Vipers SC have unveiled Serbian tactician Nikola Kavazović as their new head coach at the brief event held at St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

Kavazovic replaces Charles Livingstone Mbabazi who left the role before the end of last season.

He has put pen to paper on a two year employment contract with the six time Uganda Premier league champions.

The 48 year old Serb has previously coached Township Rollers in Botswana, Kenya’s AFC Leopards, Free State Stars (in South Africa) and currently Ethiopia Coffee.

Kavazovic also coached Sri Lanka and Tajikistan national football teams between 2012 –2014.

The Serbian tactician will be assisted by Fred Muhumuza, Jose Esdras, Ali Kimera, Gym instructor Kato Ibrahim and team doctor Micheal Lule. He will however beef up his technical staff with another assistant and a video analyst.

Following Mbabazi’s departure, the Venoms were under the interim stewardship of Richard Wasswa who guided the team until the end of the last season.

Vipers finished trophy-less during the unpleasant campaign 2023/24 season and it was the first time in five year that the Kitende outfit failed to clinch silverware.
