The Uganda Premier league secretariat has postponed the contest between Express FC and Mbale Heroes.
Both sides were due to kickoff their 2024/25 league season on Saturday, 14th September at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
According to the Secretariat, the game has been pushed to Monday at 7Pm due to the ongoing renovations at Hamz Stadium.
“The Secretariat is in receipt of a letter from Express requesting us to push their match against Mbale Heroes that has been scheduled for Saturday 14th September to Monday 16th September. This is a temporary measure to allow the management of Hamz Stadium Nakivubo to finalize with some modifications at the stadium.”
Accordingly, we have regrettably rescheduled the Express FC Vs Mbale Heroes FC match to Monday 16th September at 7Pm.” Read a statement from the Secretariat
Express FC also confirmed the development on their socials in a short notice
“Our game against Mbale Heroes has been postponed to Monday 16th September 2024 at 7 PM due to some renovations at the Hamz stadium. We regret any inconvenience caused.”
Meanwhile, KCCA FC will kickoff the new UPL campaign against URA FC on Friday night at Lugogo.
