BUL FC set to sign Mbale Heroes midfielder

BUL FC are set to complete the signing of their former midfielder Daniel Shabena from Mbale Heroes, Swift Sports understands.

Shabena spent the previous season at Mbale Heroes and helped the team gain promotion to the Uganda Premier League from the Big League.

He is set to complete a return to BUL FC having previously played for the club between 2017 – 2019.

Shabena rose to the Uganda Premier League scene with KJT Rwenshama and went on to play for the Uganda Hippos (U20) and JMC Hippos in 2016.

He joined BUL FC in 2017 and left the club in 2019 to join Express FC from where he won the Uganda Premier League and CECAFA Kagame Cup in 2021.

Shabena is expected to boost the BUL FC midfield that heavily relied on captain George Kasonko, Pascal Ngobi and Jeremy Kirya.

The Abbey Kikomeko coached side are also set to complete the signing of Express forward Isaac Wagoina as earlier reported by this website.

Mbale Heroes is bound to lose another influential player having lost their captain Geoffrey Lubangakene to SC Villa.

Shabena scored one of the two goals that inspired Mbale Heroes to a 2-1 victory over Onduparaka which subsequently secured the club’s promotion to the topflight league.
