Striker Steven Dese Mukwala is set to complete his long-awaited move to Tanzanian giants Simba SC after leaving Ghana’s Asante Kotoko.

Today morning Mukwala through his social media accounts, confirmed his departure from Asante Kotoko after two seasons.

According to Ghana and Africa Football Journalist Micky Junior, Mukwala is in advanced stages of completing a transfer to Simba SC.

The Uganda Cranes striker has been a subject of interest from several African clubs from Egypt, Libya, Morocco as well as Ghana.

Moldovan champions FC Petrocub Hincesti have also strongly been interested in Mukwala but their interest has reportedly emerged futile as the player prefers to play for Simba.

Petrocub Hincesti are in preparations for the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League campaign where they will play against Kazakhstan’s FC Ordabasy in the qualification round early next month.

Petrocub new club president is Nana Yaw Amponsah who was a CEO of Asante Kotoko in Ghana until last year.

Mukwala has arguably been Asante Kotoko’s best performer in the past two seasons having scored 25 goals and seven assists in the 59 league games he played.

Simba SC are expected to be a very busy side in the transfer market having endured three trophy-less seasons.
