Tanzania Giants Young Africans set to part ways with former SC Villa captain Gift Fred.

According to The Citizen, the defender is to be released by the Tanzanian side this transfer window.

Gift Fred joined the 30 time Tanzanian champions at the start of the 2023/24 season on a three year employment contract.

He has been limited to playing time due to the stiff competition with Ibrahim Bacca, Dickson Job and captain Bakari Mwamnyeto.

Gift has also previously featured for Villa from third tier side Booma FC and also played for Gomba in the prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup tournament where he won the 2020 edition.

Joyce Lomalisa, Augustine Okrah, Joseph Guede and Skudu Makudubela are the other foreign players expected to be shown the exit by the Tanzanian giants.

Meanwhile, FIFA has lifted the transfer ban on Young African, clearing path for new signings.

The ban had been imposed due to two separate violations involving player registration and unpaid wages.

The Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF) confirmed the lifting of the ban in a statement released on Wednesday.
