NEC have turned Nakawa neighbors Maroons FC into their favourable hunting ground after sealing a deal to sign defender Jacob Okao.
The lanky young defender joined Maroons two years ago from Vipers SC and he leaves the Prison Warders as a free agent to sign on a two year contract with NEC.
Last week, this website also reported that compatriot Patrick Bayiga had taken the same path and they are bound to recreate their formidable partnership that saw Maroons finish 7th on the Uganda Premier league log.
Okao is a product of Maroons’ youth structure, whom he left to join St. Mary’s Kitende via Blessed Sacrament Kimanya and later Vipers Junior team.
Okao had a brief loan spell at UPDF FC from Vipers before eventually moving to Maroons on a permanent basis.
NEC’s ambitious transfer activity has seen them add former Express FC James Odoch onto their technical department and also completed deals for Big league top scorer Dickson Niwamanya, experienced midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba, goal keeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo, left back Isma Kawawulo, striker Viane Sekajugo and combative midfielder Amir Kakomo among others.
