Dusan Stojanovic has hailed his SC Villa players for their performance in club’s 3-1 victory over Tanzania’s Singida at the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup on Friday.
Najib Yiga, Patrick Jonah Kakande and Reagan Mpande inspired the three time CECAFA winners to their maiden win at this year’s championship.
“I am very happy with the way my players expressed themselves in the win against Singida Black Stars. We started at a low pace in the opening match, and now they team is gaining momentum,” Said Stojanovic before adding,
“I am also glad that the matches in this tournament are preparing the team ahead of the new season,” added the Serbian tactician as quoted by CECAFA online.
SC Villa will finish their group stage campaign against Rwanda’s APR on Monday, 15th July 2024.
APR are currently top of Group C with 6 points after their narrow 1-0 win over El Merriekh Bentiu FC, while SC Villa now have 4 points.
