Striker Alfred Leku is on the verge of joining Kenya Premier League side Police FC on a free transfer.
Leku is currently a free agent after leaving Rwanda’s Kiyovu Sports Club at the end of last season.
He is set to replace striker Tito Okello who left the club to join an unidentified club in Indonesia.
Okello was Police’s top scorer last season after scoring 20 goals which included 16 in the league and four in the Mozart Bet Cup.
Leku is expected to boost the club’s attacking force ahead of the new season that will also see the Cops represent Kenya in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Police will face Geoffrey Wasswa’s Ethiopian Coffee in the first preliminary round with the aggregate winning team facing Zamalek in the final qualification round.
Leku has had an adventurous career that has seen him feature for Vipers, Onduparaka, Express FC, Proline, Arua Hill and URA FC in the Uganda Premier League.
He also played for Botswana’s Gwaneng Galaxy and Extension Gunners and Zambia’s Zesco United.
The lanky striker received a South Sudan national team call up ahead of the most recent round of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
