Former Vipers Brazilian coach Roberto Oliveira Goncalves do Carmo “Robertinho” has been re-appointed as the new Rayon Sports head coach ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Robertinho has been a free agent since he was relieved of his coaching duties at Simba SC in Tanzania in November last year.
He has replaced Frenchman Julien Mette who left the club last month after his contract expired.
Robertinho left an indelible mark at Rayon Sports in the 2018/19 season as he won the Rwanda Premier League and also guided the club to the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinals.
His immediate task will be an attempt to stop the APR FC league winning streak. The Army bankrolled side has won the league five times on a trot.
Rayon Sports is home to former SC Villa striker Charles Bbaale while goalkeeper Simon Tamale left the club as his contract expired last season.
