Maroons FC have finalized a deal for goalkeeper Hassan Matovu as a free agent from Soltilo Bright Stars.
Matovu’s initial three year contract with Soltilo Bright Stars ran down at the end of the previous campaign.
He switches to Maroons as a direct replacement for Hannington Sebwalunyo who left the club to join NEC FC.
Matovu has proved to be one of the best performing goalkeepers in the league since he joined Soltilo Bright Stars from KCCA in 2021.
He is a graduate of the KCCA Soccer Academy but also spent some quality time on loan at Proline FC in 2019.
He is expected to be a huge boost for the Prison Warders who have embarked on a rebuilding process with signing a couple of young blood.
The Luzira based club already unveiled Ivan Asaba, Apollo Kagogwe, Ibrahim Juma Dada and former SC Villa forward Rogers Kiwanuka.
Swift Sports understands that they are also set to complete the signing of winger Muwadda Mawejje who is a free agent from UPDF FC.
Former Express midfielder Ivan Mayanja has also agreed terms with Maroons after missing in action last season.
