Sam Ssenyonjo completes move to Express FC

Express FC have completed the signing of striker Sam Ssenyonjo from Soltilo Bright Stars.

Ssenyonjo comes as a free agent after his contract with Soltilo Bright Stars expired at the end of the previous campaign.

He is expected to be assigned with the task of being the club’s chief source of goals following the departure of Isaac Wagoina to BUL FC.

Ssenyonjo is a former Uganda Hippos striker who broke to the scene with KCCA FC in the 2019/20 season.

He had a loan spell at Wakiso Giants in 2021/22 campaign before joining Soltilo Bright Stars where has spent the last two seasons.

He was part of the Hippos team that won silver during the AFCON U20 tournament held in Mauritania in 2021.

Ssenyonjo joins the growing list of new recruits at Express which includes midfielder Emmanuel Alex Wasswa who has been acquired from KCCA FC.

Defender Derrick Ngoobi has also returned to Express after a brief six-month stint in Kenya with Sofapaka FC.

Geoffrey Gagganga was also signed from CATDA FC following his impressive exploits with UCU in the University Football League.

As earlier revealed by this website, the Red Eagles will be playing against Kenya’s AFC Leopards in a friendly game slated for Friday 16th August at Wankulukuku.
