The Ugandan contingent of students who will represent the country in the upcoming FEASSA Games has today been flagged off by the State Minister for Sports Hon. Peter Ogwang.
The official flagging off ceremony was held at the Mandela National Stadium, in Namboole.
Peter Ogwang commended the participants and urged them to proudly represent the country by defending the overall championship in the highly anticipated games.
” As you got to Bukedea, you are not going for merrymaking, you are going for a competition. Make sure you bring gold medals to Uganda,” Ogwang said
” Non bonafide players are strictly not allowed to play in our games. We want children of the right age to compete in these games” He added.
Uganda as a country will have a total of 1690 students competing which is also a record total since the establishment of the FEASSA games.
Neighbors Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania will also compete in a bid to dethrone Uganda who have emerged as the overall winners in the last three editions.
This will be the 21st edition of the Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) games.
Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College School will co-host the games in Bukedea district between 16th to 27th August.
H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to grace the opening ceremony on Friday 16th August .
