Shaban did not play any part in Uganda’s empathic display while playing on the road against South Africa at the Orlando Stadium.

“Shaban picked up an injury in the final 15 minutes of the last training session in preparation for South Africa.”

“We will see how he reacts in training today and hopefully he can be available tomorrow ”

Put also talked about the concern about the lack of enough resting time, having only played on Friday and travelling the same day.

“We had a game on Friday where we had to fight hard to get a result on the road but the focus now shifted to Congo. I believe the players have recovered well despite having limited resting time between Friday and tomorrow’s game.

The Belgian tactician recognised then fact that Congo are a decent despite Uganda’s desire to win all three points at home.

“Congo has a lot of quality with very good players featuring in big leagues. We definitely do not undermine them but our target is to pick maximum points.

Group K is currently led by Congo who beat South Sudan in their opening match. Uganda and South Africa follow suit with South Sudan on the basement of the group.
