Crested Cranes goalkeeper Vanessa Edith Karungi has joined Danish joint-record champions Brondby IF as a free agent from FC Nordsjælland.

Karungi’s three year contract with Nordsjælland officially expired and Brondby IF reacted swiftly to sign her with immediate effect.

Karungi relishes a new challenge ahead of her and looks forward to starting a new chapter with the club.

” I am incredibly happy to have signed with such a traditional and ambitious club. I am more than ready for the challenge that lies ahead.” Karungi says via the club’s website.

” This is a fantastic opportunity and I am looking forward to working hard, helping the team and enjoying every moment on the pitch.”

“I can’t wait to meet all the fans and everyone around the club, and hopefully achieve lots of success together as a team.” She adds.

Karungi has spent three seasons at FC Nordsjælland and won a league title once in 2024 but also had two seasons at B.93 Copenhagen.

Locally, she played for She Corporate and also Olila HS Women FC before moving to Denmark in 2021.

Her new club Brondby will play against Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam in the UEFA Women’s Champions League Qualifiers next month.

Brondby IF are Denmark’s joint league record champions having won 12 titles alongside rivals Fortuna Hjorring.
