Uganda Cranes Friendly Matches in Morocco called off due to Ebola

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has announced that the friendly matches involving Uganda Cranes in Morocco have been cancelled.

Uganda was due to face Tanzania on Friday, 5th June before taking on Madagascar on 8th of the same month but the matches won’t be played as earlier planned.

“CANCELLED: The two International Friendly matches against Tanzania and Madagascar have been cancelled due to sanitary and public health considerations as communicated by authorities through our match agents.” Read a development from FUFA

The Uganda Cranes contingent left for Morocco on Monday morning to prepare for the two games with foreign players such as Allan Okello of Young Africans, Rogers Mato of Hearts of Oak, Travis Mutyaba of CS Sfaxien, and Aziz Kayondo of Slovan Liberec among those who had joined the group dominated by local based players.

Uganda Premier League Most Valuable Player for last season Abdul Karim Watambala and goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo were among the local based players in the squad.
