The Uganda Premier League Secretariat has revealed the nominees for the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League Awards with voting now open ahead of the end-of-season celebration recognising the league’s finest performers.
According to UPL, this year’s awards will be determined through a comprehensive selection process that combines technical analysis, performance data, football observation, stakeholder engagement and controlled public interaction to ensure credibility and fairness in the final outcome.
The voting ecosystem will include contributions from a technical panel, league statistics and data, selected football stakeholders, media input and limited weighted fan engagement.
Fans will vote for their best players in the following categories; the Most Valuable Player award, Young Player of the Season, Coach of the Season and Goal of the Season, while other honours such as the Golden Boot Award, Golden Glove Award, Fair Play Team Award and Platinum Award.
Vipers SC midfielder Abdul Karim Watambala who has been in fine form will battle with SC Villa duo of Frank Ssebuufu and Raymond Mangoli Barasa.

KCCA FC’s Sammy Ssebaduka and Entebbe UPPC striker Ambrose Kigozi are the other nominees.
For coach of the season, SC Villa’s Zeljko Kovacevic, Ivan Jacky Minnaert of Vipers, Abdallah Mubiru and Badru Kaddu are the nominees.
SC Villa’s Raymond Mangoli Barasa also appears on the young player of the season gong along with Enrique Lubwama (UPDF FC), Richard Okello (BUL FC) and Hakim Wandera (NEC FC).

The organizers revealed that the winners in each category will be announced at the awarding ceremony due on 29th May.
