Crested Cranes forward joins French 2nd tier club Rodez Aveyron

French second tier club Rodez Aveyron FC has completed the signing of Ugandan forward Natasha Shirazi on a one year contract.

Shirazi joins Rodez Aveyron from Greek topflight side AO Rethymniaki Enosi Athliton where she spent the closing half of last season.

Shirazi took part in Rodez Aveyron’s 6-1 win over Montauban in a friendly match before being unveiled by the club officially.

Shirazi is the most travelled Ugandan female player having had stints in Denmark, Spain, Israel, Ireland, Italy, Turkey, Greece and Albania.

She previously featured for FC Nordsjaelland and B.93 Copenhagen in Denmark as well as Rayo Vallecano and FF La Solana in Spain.

Beskitas (Turkey), Maccabi Kishronot Hadera (Israel), Venezia (Italy) and FK Tirana in Albania are other clubs she has played for.

Shirazi made her Crested Cranes debut in 2016 and was part of the squad that won the CECAFA Women’s Championship in 2022 in Njeru.

She will be expected to make her competitive debut as Rodez Aveyron take on Lille in the French Ligue 2 on Sunday 15th.
