Maroons FC will face off with UPDF FC as the two sides kick start their 2024-25 Uganda Premier League journey at Luzira Prisons grounds.
Both sides have managed to capture some new faces to boost their squads.
Apollo Kagogwe, Ivan Asaba, Rodgers Kiwanuka, Jamal Semwogere, Bashir Mutanda, Ibrahim Dada and goalkeeper Simon Tamale who returned are some of the players that joined the Luzira based entity.
The Army side managed to capture the signature of Samson Andrew Kigozi, Shakib Mayanja, Asaph Ssegujja, Joseph Jjanjali, Samuel Ssekamatte Kayongo, Daniel Kitara and Ronald Kayondo.
Muhammad Senfuma has promised their fans entertainment football as the season starts,
“We have prepared the team so well and all I can promise our fans is entertaining football as we have always delivered.”
Paul Kiwanuka who was elevated to the role of Head coach believes this time they have done enough in sharpening the squad,
“The squad we have will give the best for the past two to three seasons our side has always had a challenge of poor results especially at the beginning of the season which has affected us a lot to the extent of surviving relegation on the final day last season.”
“This time we are to work hard to fight that the preparations we have had are enough to give the best.”
The last six meetings the two sides have met UPDF has won once, Maroons twice and the three have ended in stalemates.
