Express FC have completed the signing of Uganda Cranes striker Richard Basangwa, Swift Sports understands.
Basangwa will play for the Red Eagles on a two year contract.
The Cranes forward has been unattached since January this year after leaving Egyptian side Wadi Degla.
He is expected to boost the club’s forward line following the departure of Isaac Wagoina to BUL FC.
Basangwa is a former player of Vipers and St. Mary’s Kitende who also had a loan stint at Gaddafi FC prior to his move to Egypt in 2022.
The stocky striker earned attention while featuring for the Hippos during the AFCON U20 tournament held in Mauritania in 2021 as Uganda won silver.
Express FC have also appointed former KCCA assistant coach Badru Kaddu as their new assistant coach to deputize Baker Mbowa.
The Red Eagles will open their campaign with a home game against Mbale Heroes at Nakivubo at 7pm.
