Long serving midfielder Ronald Orombi has been named as the new Maroons FC captain for the new season.
Orombi has been elevated to the captaincy following the departure of David Ndihabwe who joined Kitara FC after his contract with Maroons expired.
Defender Edward Kabona, right back Dennis Rukundo and goalkeeper Simon Tamale have been named as Orombi’s immediate assistants respectively.
Tamale recently returned to Maroons after a one year stint in Rwanda with Rayon Sports.
Maroons under Mohammed Ssenfuma endured a massive exodus of players but have managed a number of signings to fill the void.
Former SC Villa and JMC Hippos midfielder Ambrose Kirya is one of the many signings confirmed by the club last week.
Bashir Mutanda, Ivan Mayanja, Ivan Asaba, Apollo Kagogwe Hassan Matovu, Muwadda Mawejje, Rogers Kiwanuka, Ibrahim Juma Dada, Brian Omirambe and Jamal Ssemwogere are other new signings.
Maroons will face UPDF FC in their opener on Sunday 15th September at the Luzira Prisons Grounds.
