Micho sacked as Libya national team head coach

Former Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic alias Micho has been sacked as Libya national team coach.

The much travelled coach was sacked with just weeks to Libya’s 2025 AFCON double-header against the Nigeria.

The Serbian tactician replaced Salim Al-Jalali who was serving as Libya’s interim head coach in October, last year.

During the opening games of the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers, Libya lost 2-1 to Benin and drew at home with Rwanda.

They are currently bottom of Group D with just one point in the opening two games.

Libya will next month first travel to Nigeria before both hosting the return fixture a few days later in Tripoli.

Micho has previously managed at SC Villa, Sudan’s Al Hilal, Tanzania’s Yanga Africans, Saint George of Ethiopia, the Rwanda national team, Yugoslavia U20 head coach, Orlando Pirates of South Africa, Egyptian side Zamalek, Zambia national team, Uganda Cranes among others.
