Steven Mukwala’s Simba FC progressed to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage after eliminating Libya’s Al Ahly.
Simba surged through 3-1 on aggregate courtesy of their second leg victory at home. The two sides had played out to a goalless stalemate in the first leg meeting in Tripoli.
Goals from Cameroonian Leonel Ateba, Denis Kibu and Edwin Balua sealed Simba’s place in the group stage.
Uganda Cranes striker Mukwala was unused substitute once again.
Simba will now know their Group stage opponents on 7th October when the draw will be held in Egypt’s capital, Cairo.
