Kampala Queens name new captains ahead of new FTWSL season

Kampala Queens have announced that Shamirah Nalugya is the new club captain ahead of the new Finance Trust Women Super League season.

Nalugya takes over from goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro who was appointed as the captain in the second half of the previous season.

Defender Jamirah Nabulime who played all league games last season, has been named as the first assistant captain.

Forward Zaina Nandede has been appointed as the second assistant captain to complete the club’s new leadership group.

Kampala Queens will open their FTWSL campaign with a home game against Wakiso Hill this Friday (27th September) at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

The 2022/23 league champions embarked on new beginnings after parting company with over 12 players from their squad that competed last season.

They have signed a number of new players who include Zaitun Namaganda and Kamiyat Naigaga from Wakiso Hill and Asubo Ladies respectively.

Peace Muduwa, Miriam Nakayiwa, Shakira Nankwanga, Sumaya Nalumu, Shamsa Najjuma, Moureen Kimono and Sumaya Namulondo are other signings.
