Six time Uganda Premier league champions Vipers SC have beefed up their technical department with former Wakiso Giants coach John Ayala Luyinda.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that Luyinda will work as the first assistant coach at the Kitende based side.

Luyinda has been unemployed since his departure at Wakiso Giants at the end of last season.

He joins Vipers technical team that is headed by Nikola Kavazovic, Fred Muhumuza, Ali Kimera (goalkeeping coach), Ibrahim Kato (Gym instructor) and Micheal Lule (Team doctor).

Besides Wakiso Giants, Luyinda has previously worked as assistant Head coach to Abdallah Mubiru at KCCA FC, Police FC and Vipers as well.

Vipers finished trophy-less during the unpleasant campaign 2023/24 season and it was the first time in five year that the Kitende outfit failed to clinch silverware.

In their opening league fixtures this term, the Venoms lost their opening fixture 3-1 to NEC FC before their 3-0 win over Express and lately a goalless stalemate at Lugazi.

They will next host Uganda Premier league champions SC Villa on Saturday, 5th October at Kitende.
