Cameroon and Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has promised a return to Uganda during his summer holidays.
Following his nation’s qualification to the 2025 AFCON Final tournament in Morocco after their 1-0 win over Kenya at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole on Monday, the custodian promised Man United faithfuls in Uganda more time on his return.
“I am happy with the victory, happy with the way we played. It’s a big honour to play for the Cameroon national team. It’s amazing to play for this badge so you have to be well prepared.
“I want to thank the Ugandan fans for the warm welcome last time and this time, so I am very happy and hopefully in the summer, I will come back for the holidays and have more time together and do something nice. I promise I will come back.” Said Onana during a mixed zone interview with journalists at Namboole
Unlike his first time in Uganda, this time Onana and Co played their game with Kenya behind closed doors of the newly refurbished Namboole.
Some Man United fans in Uganda had a chance to have selfies with the custodian at Entebbe Airport while some had to only wave at him when the Cameroon team bus left Namboole Stadium.
