Paul Put’s Uganda Cranes have risen in the latest FIFA Rankings that were released on Thursday, 24th October.
In the latest rankings, Uganda is 87th in the World which is an improvement from the previous 90th position as per the September Rankings.
During the month of October, Uganda completed a double over neighbors South Sudan winning 1-0 in Namboole before a 2-1 victory in Juba.
Uganda are on the verge of a return to the Africa Cup of Nations and currently top Group K of the qualifiers with 10 points.
Victory or a draw against South Africa on 15th November will secure a place for the Cranes in next year’s continental showpiece in Morocco.
Meanwhile, the Uganda Cranes were also nominated for the team of the year by CAF with the awards scheduled for December, 16th in Marrakech, Morocco.
