UPL Clubs to observe a minute’s silence in memory of Assistant Referee Peter Kabugo

The Uganda Premier League Secretariat has directed that a minute’s silence should be observed before kick-off at all match venues this match day eight as a mark of respect for Assistant Referee Peter Kabugo who passed away last week.

Kabugo collapsed in the 73rd minute of SC Villa Vs UPDF FC game at Wankulukuku on Friday last week and passed away.

He was laid to rest at his ancestral home in Buikwe on Sunday.

UPL has come together to pay tribute to Kabugo in their match day eight fixtures after his death.

“Uganda Premier League were deeply saddened by the passing of Peter Kabugo who 2nd assistant referee during the SC Villa Vs UPDF FC match that was played on Friday, 1st November 2024. Accordingly, the SUPL will observe a minute of silence to commence on the referee’s whistle at all match day 8 fixtures in memory of the late.” Reads a statement from the Uganda Premier league
