Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Joseph Put has revealed why he has summoned KCCA FC goalkeeper Mutwalib Mugolofa for the final AFCON 2025 Qualifiers against South Africa and Congo Brazzaville due this month.
Mugolofa has managed six clean-sheets in the league this term and Put believes he will be key for the Cranes ahead of the CHAN qualifier contest against Burundi in December.
“We are aware that CHAN is around the corner, and we have games against Burundi next month. So I needed to have him (Mugolofa) around the set up and also get training sessions with the goalkeeping coach.
“He has been performing well in the League, and maybe next time we will summon another goalkeeper.” Said the Belgian tactician
Mugolofa kept clean-sheets against URA FC, Kitara FC, Soltilo Bright Stars, UPDF FC, Mbale Heroes FC and Maroons FC.
He is yet to concede a league goal since Jerome Kirya’s leveller in the 1-1 stalemate between BUL FC and KCCA FC in September at Najjembe.
