Makerere aggravate Wakiso Hill’s woes with a commanding 3-0 victory

Makerere University 3-0 Wakiso Hill

Makerere University (She Mak) sealed a 3-0 comprehensive victory over woeful Wakiso Hill at the University Sports ground as the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League resumed.

Goals from Jemimah Twesigye, Eva Naggayi and Zainah Namuleme ensured a commanding victory for the Makerere side.

Makerere dominated proceedings with a host of goal attempts until they eventually broke the deadlock in the 38th minute through Twesigye.

Twesigye tapped in from close range following Daphine Nalubowa’s cross to grab a deserved lead.

The second halfsaw Makerere create more goal scoring chances but only had to wait until the 68th minute when Naggayi’s low drive beat goalkeeper Halima Kasuubo on the near post.

Namuleme, who had a lion’s share on the attempts on the day, finally found target to kill off the game with 15 minutes to normal time.

Namuleme was subsequently named the Player of the Match following her outstanding performance on the day.

The victory pushed Makerere to the third place on nine points while defeat sunk Wakiso Hill into the relegation zone.

The Antelopes are now 11th on the log of 12 teams and will host She Maroons in their next game next Saturday.

The other games played on the day saw Kampala Queens beat Amus College 2-0 at Lugogo courtesy of goals from Shamsa Najjuma and Anitah Namata.

Olila High School beat Tooro Queens 3-1 to get their first win of the season while She Maroons and She Corporate shared spoils in a 1-1 draw at Luzira.
