Kawempe Muslim needed a late goal from second half substitute Hadijah Babirye to defeat Lady Doves 1-0 in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League at the school valley ground.
Babirye came off the bench to replace Krusum Namutebi and went on to break the Lady Doves’ resilience in the 81st minute.
The hard fought victory was Kawempe’s fifth win in the six games played and stretched their lead on the table to four points clear.
The Ayub Khalifa coached side also bagged their fifth clean sheet of the season in the process.
Kawempe will visit Olila High School in their next game on Sunday 17th November while Lady Doves will host Kampala Queens on Saturday 16th.
Kampala Queens who beat Amus College 2-0 on Saturday are currently second on the table with 12 points, four behind Kawempe.
Kawempe will host their close rivals Kampala Queens in an anticipated clash in a fortnight.
