Nineteen countries have already secured 2025 AFCON slots due to take place in Morocco next year.

Morocco’s showpiece is scheduled to begin on December 21st, 2025 and will culminate with the final on January 18th, 2026.

After five rounds of the qualification campaign, it’s now upon matchday six to determine the five teams that will join the already qualified 19 in the biggest African football competition.

Group C:

Second placed Botswana battled for a final place in the group with Cape Verde and Mauritania.

Only two points separate Botswana with Cape Verde and Mauritania.

Botswana will face record African champions Egypt who already qualified in Cairo. If Bostwana slips, the onus will be between Cape Verde and Mauritania for a potential last-minute leap.

Group D, Libya finds itself with an opportunity to climb from bottom to second if they can prevail over Benin at home on Monday.

Benin are currently second and will need a positive result away to Libya to progress. Rwanda also has an outside chance of qualifying but must shock group leaders and already qualified Nigeria.

In Group F, Sudan need just a point against already-qualified Angola on Monday. Defeat for Sudan, however, could open the door for Niger, who must win away against already eliminated Ghana.

Group I:

Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique will face off in the Lusophone Rivalry due on Tuesday in a contest that will see the winner takes it all.

The winner between the two sides will join group leaders Mali in Morocco.

Group H, Guinea holds the advantage with a two-point lead over East Africans Tanzania. The two teams meet in a decisive clash in Dar es Salaam, with Guinea needing just a point to qualify. Tanzania are in a must win game if they are to claim the second spot behind Sebastien Desabre’s DR Congo, who have already booked their ticket.

Afcon 2025 qualified teams

Morocco (hosts), Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Comoros, DR Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Mali, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
