Former UCU Lady Cardinals duo joins Israeli Second Division side

Former UCU Lady Cardinals duo of Jauharah Nabaggala and Sandra Kisakye has joined Israel Side Maccabi Ironi Ashdod WFC.

The pair has joined the Israel outfit on a one year employment contract each to become the first ever foreign players in the club’s history.

Nabaggala is a combative midfielder while Kisakye is a winger who can ably play on both flanks.

Nabaggala won the FUFA Women Elite League with UCU in 2019 but also the the FUFA Women’s Cup in 2018.

Nabaggala also featured for the South Sudan national team in the 2019 CECAFA Women’s Championship.

Kisakye previously featured for Dynamic SS and St. Noa Girls Zzana before joining UCU Lady Cardinals in 2019.

Kisakye is a sister to Joan Kwagala and Moureen Mukisa who she has previously played with at UCU Lady Cardinals.

Sandra Nabweteme and Natasha Shirazi are the other Ugandans who have previously played in Israel before.

Their new home Ironi Ashdod was founded in 2019 and currently competes in the second division of the Israeli Women’s league.
