New York Red Bulls have announced that Ugandan striker Frank Ssebufu is leaving the club as a free agent as his contract expires.
Ssebufu is currently out of contract and the club has not exercised an option for extension.
The lanky forward joined the Ibrahim Ssekagya coached team in March 2023 from Uganda Premier League side Wakiso Giants.
The club has announced that Ssebufu’s compatriots Ibrahim Kasule and Steven Sserwadda are also out of contract but negotiations for extension are underway.
Ssebufu played a total of 55 games for New York Red Bulls II, scored a total of 10 goals and provided eight assists in the process.
In the recently concluded 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season, Ssebufu played 26 games, scored one goal and provided four assists.
Sserwadda played 24 league games, scored two goals and provided one assist while Kasule featured in 23 league games scoring seven goals and assisting thrice.
