Paul Put names 28-man Uganda Cranes squad to face Cameroon and Gambia in friendlies next month

Uganda Cranes coach Paul Joseph Put has named a squad of 28 players to play in the upcoming friendlies against Cameroon and Gambia early next month.

The squad consists of 16 foreign based players and 12 from the Uganda Premier League.

The new face is Jordan Obita, a 31 year old left back who plays for Hibernian FC in the Scottish Premiership.

Obita, born in Oxford, England with Ugandan roots, previously played for the England U18, U19 and U20 national teams.

The squad also has the European usual suspects like Ellio Capradossi, Elvis Bwomono, Isaac Muleme, Travis Mutyaba, Rogers Mato and striker John Paul Dembe.

Wigan Athletic defender Toby Sibbick also returns having been part of the squad that played the most recent World Cup Qualifiers against Mozambique and Guinea.

Uganda will play against Cameroon on Friday 6th June at 10pm and then face off with The Gambia on Monday 9th June at 6pm.

Both games will be played in Morocco with the local contingent expected to travel to Morocco on Monday 2nd June.
