Vipers SC will be aiming to return to the summit when they visit Mbale Heroes on Friday.

The Venoms are likely to be without their coaches John Ayala Luyinda and Fred Muhumuza who are in Njeru Technical Center attending a CAF A coaching assessment.

Clubs such as Maroons, Police FC and UPDF FC were without their coaches Muhammad Ssenfuma, Simon Peter Mugerwa and Paul Kiwanuka due to the assessment event in Njeru.

The Venoms are second on the table with only two points separating them from leaders NEC FC.

Vipers SC played out to a 1-1 home draw with BUL FC in their previous league fixture.

Victory against Asaph Mwebaze’s Mbale Heroes will see the six time Uganda Premier league champions reclaim top spot.

Vipers are also unbeaten since their opening day defeat to NEC FC.

For Mbale Heroes, they are in the Red zone of the Uganda Premier league with nine points.

They are aiming for a third league win of the season after victories against SC Villa and Bright Stars with both coming at home.

Victory over the Venoms will see Mbale Heroes move just a point from safety positions.
