Uganda Premier league Giants KCCA FC have officially lodged an appeal against FUFA’s Disciplinary Panel decision in the petition that was filed by Mbarara City FC.

On Wednesday, FUFA confirmed that KCCA FC lost their Uganda Premier League game against Mbarara City by forfeiture after fielding Gavin Kizito who was ineligible.

The Ankole Lions were awarded three points and three goals.

In the latest development, the 13-time league champions who were not dissatisfied with the decision have lodged a petition.

“Following the recent decision from the FUFA Disciplinary Panel regarding the match against Mbarara City FC, KCCA FC has formally lodged an appeal. We remain committed to upholding the highest standards of all rules, sportsmanship and fair play.” Read a statement from KCCA FC

KCCA had initially won the contest 2-0 during their league meeting that was held on January 7th 2025 at Kakyeeka Stadium in Mbarara thanks to second half goals by Etienne Katenga and Emmanuel Anyama.

After the game, Mbarara City petitioned FUFA as KCCA fielded Gavin Kizito who had three accumulated three bookings.

Kizito had been booked in games against Mbale Heroes, Police FC and NEC FC which automatically ruled out of the game against Mbarara City.

The FUFA Referees Displinary Panel also suspended experienced referee William Oloya from officiating football for six months after he failed to record Gavin and Emojong Anthony Okimaru yellow cards in his final report for the KCCA FC Vs NEC FC game to FUFA and UPL Secretariat.

The ruling saw Mbarara City’s tally to 17 points and a place higher after 15 league games played while KCCA FC slipped from third place to the 5th place on 24 points.
