Uganda U-17 National team (Cubs) have learnt their 2025 AFCON U-17 Group Stage opponents at the draw conducted on Thursday in Cairo.
Uganda qualified for the final tournament after their triumph at the CECAFA Region U-17 qualifiers that were held in Kampala in December last year.
Under the stewardship of Brian Ssenyondo, Uganda has been pitted in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, East African neighbors Tanzania and Zambia.
It should be noted that Uganda beat Tanzania in the CECAFA Region U-17 qualifiers Final 2-1 in December.
Group B has Burkina Faso, South Africa, Egypt and the team that will win the UNIFFAC Zone whereas Group C has Defending champions Senegal, The Gambia, Somalia and Tunisia.
Mali, Angola, Ivory Coast and the runners up in UNIFFAC Zone are in Group D.
The expanded tournament will see 16 teams compete from 30 March 19 April, 2025, with a record 10 African nations to qualify for the 48-team 2025 FIFA Under-17 World Cup that will be staged in Qatar from 5-27 November, 2025.
