Seventh Heaven! Vipers crowned UPL Champions

Vipers SC have been crowned Uganda Premier league champions for a seventh time as the 2024/25 campaign climaxed on Saturday.

The Venoms were officially crowned as the best team in the land at the ceremony held at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende after their final game of the season that ended in a 1-1 stalemate with Soltilo Bright Stars. They finished top of the table with 69 points.

Alou Kokas gave the visitors the lead before Allan Okello converted from the spot for his 19th goal of the season.

After the game, Milton Karisa the Vipers skipper became the first man in history to lift the new league title named Margherita. Vipers finished their league campaign with 69 points.

Former Vipers forward Tony Odur revealed the title to the Vipers faithfuls before the coronation ceremony.

Meanwhile, second placed NEC beat URA FC 1-0 thanks to Emmanuel Ajo’s sole goal while last season’s champions SC Villa overcame Lugazi 1-0.

KCCA FC beat Express FC 3-0 while Kitara FC shred relegated Mbale Heroes 6-1.
