Musale Ssejja and Ssabagabo Nairambi emerged winners of Mbuubi Cup ( Buvuma) that climaxed on Saturday 22nd Feb at Magyo grounds in Buvuma.
Ssabagabo Nairambi emerged winners in football after defeating Musale Ssejja 6-5 in spot kicks following a full-time barren draw.
Musale Ssejja won in netball after a 9-4 victory against Ssabagabo Nairambi.
The winners were awarded by the Buganda Kingdom minister for Youth, Sports and Art Oweek.Robert Serwanga Ssalongo who appreciated the organisation,
“Great thanks to Mbuubi for the organisation It us very evident with this organisation they have managed to spot players that will be used in this year’s Masaza Cup tournament, seeing some participants taking part in the Buganda Schools Competitions and Bika Byabaganda football tournaments will be a plus for all of us.”
Mbuubi Oweek.Micheal Mboowa appreciated Oweek.Serwanga for visiting Buvuma Islands,
“Oweek.Serwanga we are more than happy to have you here in Buvuma, I believe this year we are going to compete in the Masaza Cup tournament with players from Mbuubi Cup representatives Buvuma.”
The Ggombolola Competitions are held across the 18 Masaza of Buganda from 19th January to 30th March, as a part of the celebrations for the Kabaka’s 70th birthday, with each localised Cup named after the official title of the Ssaza chief.
