KCCA FC thrashed relegation threatened Mbale Heroes 5-0 on Saturday at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo to register their first second round league win.
The Abdallah Mubiru coached side had gone five games without maximizing points and had not scored in three consecutive second round games.
Usama Arafat opened the scoring for the 13 time league champions before Shafik Nana Kwikiriza doubled their advantage after dribbling past two Mbale Heroes defenders in the 26th minute.
Sadat Anaku made it 3-0 before the halftime breather after being fed by Kwikiriza who put up a brilliant performance.
In the second period, youngsters Yan Gatbel and Sharif Ssengendo were also on the score sheet for their maiden goals for the club respectively.
KCCA FC are now sixth on the Uganda Premier league table with 28 points while Mbale Heroes are bottom with 10 points.
Meanwhile, Mbarara City and Soltilo Bright Stars played out to a goalless stalemate in the other game played on Saturday at Kakyeka. On Sunday, SC Villa will host Maroons at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
