Defending champions Ssabagabo Kabulasoke dominated the finals of Kitunzi Cup winning in both football and netball in games played at Kigezi Church of Uganda grounds.
Ssabagabo Kabulasoke defeated Ssabawaali Kyegonza 3-2 in kicks from the penalty spot to win their fourth consecutive Kitunzi Cup championship.
Ssabagabo Kabulasoke won Ssabawaali Kyegonza 26-16 in the 2025 Kitunzi Cup netball tournament.
In mweeso, Ssabawaali Kyegonza finished first while Mumyuka Mpenja and Ssabaddu Maddu were second and third respectively.
The Kiggwo Kiganda Competitions were won by Ssabawaali Kyegonza while Mumyuka Mpenja came third.
Kitunzi Fred Mugabi was happy with the improvement in the organisation basing on the 2024 edition,
“I am happy that this year’s organisation has been excellent. The organisers and players have given the best, we have managed to identify new talents we hope push us forward .”
“We are also hopeful some of the participants will get better offers.”
Chief Guest Owek.Robert Serwanga appreciated those who fully supported the competitions,
“I would like to appreciate Kitunzi and the organising committee for the great organisation. We are hoping to see players that took part in these competitions to feature in the upcoming competitions as well as excel.”
The Ggombolola Competitions are held across the 18 Masaza of Buganda from 19th January to 30th March, as a part of the celebrations for the Kabaka’s 70th birthday, with each localised Cup named after the official title of the Ssaza chief.
