Lugazi FC intensified their journey to survival with a 3-1 win over Mbale Heroes at the Mbale City Stadium
Sam Ssemugugu, Hussein Ssenoga and Sharif Yusuf Saaka were on target to register a 6th victory for the Steven Bogere coached side.
Mbale Heroes inched closer to relegation after suffering their 14th defeat of the season.
Ssemugugu got Lugazi into an early lead in the 3rd minute before Ssenoga doubled the scoreline at the half hour mark to ensure a comfortable lead at halftime.
Lanky striker Robert Eseru pulled one back for the home side to halve the deficit in the 57th minute but Saaka put the game beyond reach with a neat finish in the 79th minute.
Victory elevated Lugazi to the 9th place with 26 points, eight above the relegation zone.
Mbale Heroes remain at the bottom of the table having managed to collect only 10 points with 10 games to go.
Lugazi will shift attention to their upcoming home clash with SC Villa in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
