CAS orders Vipers to pay former coach $84000

The Court of Arbitration of Sports(CAS) has orders six time Uganda Premier league champions Vipers SC to pay their former head coach Roberto Luiz Bianchi Pelliser $84,000 for breach of contract.

Vipers will also have to pay the Brazilian tactician for the flight tocket in €1,250.

The Venoms were found guilty by CAS for breaching Bianchi’s employment contract as per the ruling made on February 25th, 2025.

 

The tactician was appointed on January 3rd, 2023 and was relieved of his duties at Vipers on March 8th, 2023.

Bianchi who was earning $6000 a month as salary at Vipers was compensated a two months pay of $12000 but was not satisfied.

On March 24th, 2023, he filed his case to the FIFA football Tribunal for breach of contract without just cause and wanted the club to pay him $9000 compensation and 1,250 for the return air ticket to Spain and $18,000 as compensation for bad faith, moral damages and specificity of Sports.

At the time, FIFA ruled in Vipers favour before the Brazilian forwarded the case to the CAS on June 23rd, 2023.

In the hearing that started on June 8th, 2024, Vipers was represented by President Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa, club Chief Executive Officer Simon Peter Njuba and the club’s legal director Alex Luganda through a video conference.

The Venoms were found guilty of prematurely terminating Bianchi’s employment contract with just cause and appealed decision on May 23rd set aside.
