KCCA handed triple injury boost ahead of Rwenzori Lions Stanbic Uganda Cup clash

KCCA FC will entertain Rwenzori Lions FC in the round of 16 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup under the floodlights of Lugogo on Tuesday.

KCCA FC eliminated West Nile regional league side Kuluva Rainbow FC in the previous round while Rwenzori Lions FC needed penalties to overcome Buhimba United.

Meanwhile, this will be the first ever meeting between the two sides.

The fixture will also be KCCA’s first ever in the Uganda Cup under the floodlights of Lugogo and also their first home fixture in the competition since February 2022.

KCCA have had their  injury crisis has eased with the returns of defender Hassan Muhamud, Etienne Katenga and skipper Julius Poloto Abdallah Mubiru’s squad. Poloto missed KCCA FC’s 2-1 win over UPDF FC due to illness.

The Kasasiro Boys will be without Musitafa Mujuzi who commenced light training while Gavin Kizito and Brian Jjara are on national team duties.

Steven Munguchi is also ruled out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 tie against Rwenzori Lions FC.

KCCA FC last won the competition in 2018 when they beat Vipers in the final that was held in Bukedea.

Meanwhile, Lugazi FC will welcome nine time winners SC Villa at Lugazi Stadium in the other game on Tuesday whereas 2022 winners BUL FC and Total FC who eliminated Express FC.
