Reigning Buganda Masaza Cup champions Buddu are set to appoint Eric Kisuze as their new head coach.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that Kisuze has already agreed terms to take over at the three time prestigious competition winners.

Kisuze will replace Simon Ddungu alias Dunga who guided Buddu to the 2024 Masaza Cup triumph last year.

Ddungu returned to record Masaza Cup winners Gomba where he previously served in 2017.

Kisuze currently serves as Nkozi University head coach in the Pepsi University Football League. He is remembered for guiding Nkozi to the 2022 University Football League triumph beating St.Lawrence University in the final.

This was their second University Football League title since the 2017 edition.

Kisuze has also previously served as assistant coach at three time Masaza Cup winners Mawokota during Ronald Malinga’s reign in 2023.

Buddu will be seeking to become the first ever team to retain the prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup since it’s inception in 2004.

Last year, Michael Walaga scored the all important goal against Kyaggwe as they secured a third Masaza Cup crown at the new Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.

Besides their triumph during the 2024 edition, Buddu had previously won the competition in 2016 and 2021 beating Gomba and Buweekula respectively.
