Simon Ddungu named as new coach for Gomba

Record Masaza Champions have confirmed the appointment of Simon Ddungu as their new head coach.

Ddungu joins Gomba from Buddu a side he guided to last year’s Masaza Cup championship after defeating Kyaggwe 1-0 courtesy of Micheal Walaga.

He rejoins a side he guided to the 2017 Masaza Cup championship when they defeated Ssingo.

Simon Giita and Edgar Bwogi will serve as his first and second assistants respectively.

Jamada Magaasi has been appointed as the goalkeepers coach while Tonny Kawuki is the kits manager.

In the Masaza Cup tournament, Ddungu has previously worked with Mawokotta (2013,2019), Gomba (2017), Buddu (2018, 2024), Ssingo (2021, 2023)

Gomba have won the Masaza Cup tournament five times in 2004, 2009, 2014, 2017 and 2020.

In the previous edition Gomba failed to make it past the group stages.
