Guinea head coach Michel Dussuyer has claimed that tomorrow’s game against Uganda Cranes at Mandela National Stadium as a must win.
His side is currently third placed in Group G with seven points from five matches but Dussuyer believes a win over Paul Put’s men will keep their World Cup dream alive.
“Now, Algeria and Mozambique have accumulated more points. We badly need to pick maximum points against Uganda to improve our chances of qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 2026,” Stated Guinea coach as quoted by Xinhua.
“We know facing Uganda will not be an easy task because they will be in front of their fans and also because they lost their last match 3-1 to Mozambique. My players know what to expect, and we shall treat the match with a lot of seriousness,” added the Guinea coach
Guinea drew with Somalia in their previous game while Uganda suffered a 3-1 defeat to Mozambique.
Dussuyer’s men will also be targeting a double over Uganda following their 2-1 win in the first round meeting.
Uganda is currently fifth on six points in Group G that is led by Algeria and Mozambique who have picked 12 points respectively. Somalia, with one point, is at the bottom of the table.
