Uganda Cranes will be seeking redemption when they host Guinea in the Group G of the 2026 World Cup Qualifier match under the floodlights of Mandela National Stadium on Tuesday.
Uganda Cranes lost their previous World Cup Qualifier match 3-1 to Mozambique on Thursday last week in Cairo.
This will be the third home fixture for Paul Put’s men in the World Cup Qualifiers having beaten Botswana 1-0 before losing 2-1 to Algeria in their previous two.
Captain Khalid Aucho is doubtful for the game after suffering a knock in training while Denis Omedia is suspended after being sent off in the defeat to Mozambique.
Rogers Mato is back after serving his one match suspension.
Uganda is currently on six points and while Guinea is on seven points.
Guinea played out to a goalless stalemate with Somalia in their previous encounter and will be targeting a double over Uganda having won the first round meeting 2-1.
The Michel Dussuyer coached side has several players who feature in the top European leagues who include Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy, who has netted 14 goals in 23 Bundesliga Matches. The others are Sydouba Cisse (Leganés, Spain), Abdoulaye Touré (France), Mouctar Diakhaby (Valencia, Spain), and Issiaga Sylla (Montpellier, France).
